Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) is better known under her stage moniker Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be signed to J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. Dreamville Records released her debut album titled Pho in the month of October 2016 where she started getting noticed. Shea Butter Baby released her first studio album on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox posted her music online in 2012, when she dropped her five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to upload her music via the internet including her independently released single Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes and on Sweat It Out on July 21 in 2015. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew at that time and wanted her to work on Rihanna reference. In December 2008, it was revealed that Rihanna had been signed with Dreamville Records. She made an appearance on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II on the track Backseat with Cozz. She released Pho, her debut EP on the 21st of October the 21st of October, 2016. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change as well as performing in her own 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as the opening performance. In 2018, she appeared on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang to Nothing but the Best. and Bas On Icarus. On the 16th of July in 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream from her debut album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video that was released on September 5. In November, she released her singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November 2013, she dropped No One and Pedigree. She appeared with Cole in the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16th, and she released the song in a solo version to her first album. In February of 2019, a music clip was released for the song. The track has received nearly three millions views on YouTube within the initial week. In support of the track she performed with 6LACK during December 2018 on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
